WHO WE ARE
We are a group of students
who want to bring a high level of enthusiasm to
HOW TO JOIN
Just come out to a game and
wear a Coach Cav’s Crazies T-shirt.(Available at all
home games.) Sit in the Coach Cav’s Crazies section.
WHAT WE DO
Members of Coach Cav’s
Crazies stand in the bleachers, chant, have fun, and bring enthusiasm to all
men's home basketball games.
RULES:
1. BE
THERE… no, you don’t have to be there two hours early, but be there for
tip-off. (7:30pm all games)
2. BE
ENTHUSIASTIC. If you are going to be a Coach Cav’s Crazy then you’ve got to
put it out there. The mark of a great Crazy is their enthusiasm.
3. KEEP
IT CLEAN. Absolutely, NO SWEARING. There are children and older adults out there
who should not have to listen to any obscenities. You owe it to the
non-students in the crowd to behave appropriately.
*Remember
this is a school function and all school rules apply.
If you meet these three
criteria, you’re doing a good job. But if you want to be great, to be in a
class with the greatest of all crowds you’ll need to:
4. BE
CREATIVE IN A POSITIVE MANNER. To me, this is the factor that makes Coach
Cav’s Crazies crowd special.
Example: One of our players scores on a great play
chant: “We have (player’s name)” clap, clap, clap-clap-clap.
Again be observant, be creative, but most importantly,
be positive. All chants within good taste.
OUR BASIC CHANTS:
At tip-off: all the Crazies yell "Woo!" and increases in speed, so in the final seconds
before tip-off, everyone is wooing their heads off. Result? Pandemonium.
On offense: Options:
1. "Here we go
2.
"Let's go
3.
"Let's go Indians”
(clap, clap, clap-clap-clap)
On
defense: Options
1. The classic “DEE FENSE” (clap, clap, clap)
2. “ ohhhhhh” (held for an entire possession)
3.
play by play : "
*All end with a loud cheer
when the other team misses or we steal the ball.
When
we shot fouls shots: everyone holds up their hands in silence when it goes
in, everyone responds: “WHOOSH!”
while quickly lowering their hands.
Other
team foul shots: dead silence, then when the shooter is about to shoot
scream: AHHH or MISS IT!)
On a miss: Cycle arms (usually accompanied by
WOO! WOO!...etc)
*Absolutely
NO running onto the court at the end of the games. Also, DO NOT throw anything
onto the floor.
Both infractions will lead to
disciplinary actions being taken.
